C47 – Manufactured Housing
Contractor
(a) A general manufactured housing contractor installs, alters,
repairs or prepares for moving any type of manufactured housing as that term is
defined in Section 18007 of the Health and Safety Code, including the accessory
buildings or structures, and the foundations. A manufactured house does not
include any recreational vehicle, commercial coach or factory built housing as
that term is defined in Section 19971 of the Health and Safety Code.
(b)
A general manufactured housing contractor may provide utility services on a
single family individual site placement. Utility services mean the connection of
gas, water, sewer and electrical utilities to the home.
The General Manufactured Housing Contractor (C-47) Examination
is divided into eight major sections. These sections are:
1. Below Ground Site Preparation (7%)
- Assess site and site conditions
- Make required site modifications
2. Above Ground Site Preparation (10%)
- Evaluate home placement conditions
and requirements
- Plan and install foundation
3. Home Installation (29%)
- Complete planning, permitting, and
inspection procedures
- Begin rough set
- Complete rough set
4. Finish Work on Installed Home (6%)
- Prepare for and make desired
alterations
5. Auxiliary and Miscellaneous Installations (9%)
- Plan and prepare to install
accessories
- Assemble and install accessories
6. Below House Repair, Remodeling, Renovation,
Retrofitting (11%)
- Repair damage caused by settling or
shifting of home or site
- Repair damage caused by wear, water,
and utility delivery interruption
7. Structural Repair, Remodeling, Renovation,
Retrofitting (15%)
- Repair utility systems and
appliances
- Repair home and peripheral
structures
8. Safety (13%)
- Plan for safe delivery of home to
the site
- Use safety precautions during
installation of home
